Sources & definitions
Advanced data: nflverse, with snap counts and advanced rushing from PFR, and first-read charting from FTN via nflverse (CC BY-SA 4.0). Source files are checked automatically and cached for up to 30 minutes. — means unavailable, not zero.
How usage is calculated
Red zone: snaps starting at or inside the opponent’s 20-yard line. Goal line: carries starting at or inside the 5. Touches = carries + receptions. Third-down and last-two-minute columns count touches and targets, not snaps or routes. Last two minutes means 120 seconds or less left in either regulation half; it is a clock-based measure, not charted two-minute-drill participation. Two-point tries and nullified/deleted plays are excluded.
Air-yard share = player target air yards / team target air yards, including negative air yards. YAC is receiving yards after catch; contact yards are rushing yards after first contact. First-read share uses FTN primary reads only (code 0), excludes designed reads, and is shown only when every team target has a valid charting code. Snaps and snap share are reported by PFR. Different feeds may update at different times.
The public participation and charting APIs are checked automatically for every game. Route participation and targets per route run remain blank until a feed publishes every player’s routes run; the public participation rows currently identify players on the field and only the targeted receiver’s route. These metrics are not estimated from snap counts.
